AENIB celebrates its 35th anniversary at the Palma International Boat Show
The boat show is an appropriate setting to take stock of the achievements of the
association, as the entity has been one of the biggest promoters of the show since its
inception. The symbolic celebration will take place at the AENIB stand at the show this
Friday morning. Various personalities from the public administrations will participate,
among them the vice president of the Balearic government, Juan Pedro Yllanes.
PIBS and nautical training
By being present at the PIBS 2021, AENIB reaffirms its commitment to participate in all such
events that promote the nautical industry in the Balearics as well as showcase its member
companies and the sector in general. AENIB thus strengthens its support for the Palma
International Boat Show while both share a common purpose of being a meeting point for
different stakeholders of the sector and promoting the Balearic Islands worldwide as a
nautical destination of excellence.
In addition, AENIB collaborates with the Balearic Employment Services (SOIB) during the
boat show in various initiatives to connect future work force with the companies of the
sector. PIBS has scheduled for example a Job Day, during which young job seekers can visit
various nautical installations. The aim is to help the companies to get in touch with
professional profiles they are looking for.
New website and updated communication strategy
Coinciding with the anniversary, AENIB has launched a new website with a fresh image and
new contents. The website, as well as the profiles on social networks are modern and
visually attractive. The website will have a frequently updated news section, a directory to
promote the associated companies and a separate section where exclusive membership
benefits by various entities and collaborating companies are presented.
Among the recent contents available on the website, an interesting interview about the
origins of AENIB stands out. Tomás Garrido, one of the prime movers behind the association
and vice president of the Mallorca Chamber of Commerce during the decisive years when
the association was formed in the early eighties, tells how he encouraged the young and
feisty Margarita Dahlberg to take the reins of what was to become a benchmark association
in the whole sector.
At the same time, AENIB has launched a renewed and ambitious communication strategy,
with quality contents focused on gaining better media presence and visibility in the society,
for the benefit of the associates as well as the Balearic nautical sector in general.
