The Association of Nautical Companies in the Balearic Islands (AENIB) is against the decision of the Government of Spain to exclude the recreational craft from the fuel discount.

The total recreational vessel registrations in Spain have fallen by 17% between January and May, compared to the decrease of only 3.75% recorded in the Balearic Islands.

Between January and April 2022, 319 recreational boat registrations were recorded in the Balearics, representing a slight decrease of 4.2% compared to the same period in 2021.

Three out of every ten charter boats registered in Spain in the first quarter of the year correspond to the Balearics.

Our archipelago thus accounts for 22.8% of the Spanish charter market, leading this sector at a national level.
