At the end of August, the year-on-year boat registrations have fallen by 5,62 %, while the country-wide decline in Spain was 17,1%.

Balearic Islands accounts for two out of ten recreational boats registered in Spain so far this year, and three out of ten boats for charter, according to the data from ANEN.

Balearic Islands carries on at the top of the domestic market by accounting for two out of ten recreational craft registrations in Spain and a third of the charter market.

The Association of Nautical Companies in the Balearic Islands (AENIB) is against the decision of the Government of Spain to exclude the recreational craft from the fuel discount.

The total recreational vessel registrations in Spain have fallen by 17% between January and May, compared to the decrease of only 3.75% recorded in the Balearic Islands.
