The Balearic boat market grows at a rate of 15% between January and September 2021
More than a thousand recreational vessels have been registered in the Balearics so far this year

The Balearic boat market has accumulated a growth of 15% in the first nine months of the year, measured in terms of registrations of recreational boats. Thus, 1,063 boats have been registered so far this year, compared to 923 registered in the same period last year.

This information comes from the  "Recreational boat market report January-September 2021", published by the National Association of Nautical Companies, ANEN, based on data provided by the Directorate General of Merchant Marine. According to the report, the Balearic Islands, accounted for 17% of the national boat market at the end of September, making it the province with the greatest weight in the Spanish marine industry.

Balearics are followed by Barcelona, with 10.5% of the total registrations in the country, and then Madrid, with 6.3%. In the words of Carlos Sanlorenzo, secretary general of ANEN, "the nautical season 2021 has been one of the best in many years. The volume of recreational vessel registration of 2019 was exceeded by 13% in the period from the beginning of the year until the end of September. The sector is in good health with yachting is booming worldwide, and Spain is in tune with this trend. This is reflected in the autumn boat shows, where the purchase intention of visitors is real and sales reach best levels for years," he concludes.
