The Balearic government stimulates the participation of nautical companies in the next boat show
The Department of Energy Transition and Productive Sectors, through the Institute of Business Innovation in the Balearic Islands (IDI) continues to invest in the promotion of the nautical business sector, pooled around the Association of Nautical Companies in the Balearics (AENIB) so that it will gain visibility in the next edition of the Palma International Boat Show (PIBS).
For this purpose, the vice president of the regional government, Juan Pedro Yllanes, has signed an agreement with the president of AENIB, Jaume Vaquer, in order to support the more than 100 associated companies that represent the business side of the nautical sector. The managing director of IDI, Mariona Luis, also participated in the act.
The purpose of the agreement is to promote both the boat show as well as the nautical sector in general. In fact, both IDI as well as AENIB work towards making the show, first presential nautical event after the pandemic, a success with regard to number of participating companies and sales.
The vice president Yllanes explained that “it is to be taken into account that AENIB has always been well represented among the exhibitors of the show, some of them founders of the show. During the last year, due to the crisis caused by Covid-19, the companies have seen their income dwindle, which does not make it easy to participate this year. Therefore, we would like to help them along, so that they can exhibit in the Palma International Boat Show and take advantage of the opportunity to recover sales and get through these complicated months”.
Thereby, as the agreement stipulates, the companies associated to AENIB will be able to participate at a discounted fee. In return, their participation will promote and give visibility to the event through diffusion in national and international channels. Besides, AENIB will advice the organizing committee of PIBS in matters of developing parallel activities.
For his part, the president of AENIB, declared that “our association will always support any event or project that boosts the Balearic nautical sector, and which strengthens our industrial fabric”. Besides, Vaquer pointed out that “between the sector and the Administration we should lay a solid foundation so that all involved sectors will benefit. We should work together towards a successful show that will have a bright future ahead”.
The Association of Nautical Companies in the Balearics (AENIB) consists of more than a hundred companies of the sector on the islands representing diverse activities among the associated companies, for example construction, maintenance and sale of yachts, charter, nautical training or repair and refit. Founded in 1986, it is one of the oldest and most important nautical associations in the Balearics and is in turn integrated in ANEN (National Association of Nautical Companies), which represents practically all of the industrial and entrepreneurial side of the pleasure boat sector in Spain.
The next edition of the Palma International Boat Show will take place from 3rd till 6th of June 2021 on the Moll Vell in Palma. In fact, it will be the first presential show of the sector after the pandemic and will start the nautical season.
