This figure represents a 27.5% decrease compared to the same period last year, when 91 boats were registered, adding to the 20.7% year-on-year drop recorded in January.

At the national level, the nautical market started 2025 with a 13% decline in recreational boat registrations, with a total of 474 units registered compared to 545 during the same period in 2024.

The downturn has also affected the charter market, which represents 26.4% of total registrations and has seen a 27.3% drop nationwide, with only 125 registrations recorded by the end of February.

The Balearic Islands remain at the forefront of the Spanish market, accounting for 13.9% of all registrations nationwide, followed by Barcelona, with a 12.4% market share, and Alicante, with 10.1%.

The nautical charter segment, which accounts for 26.4% of total registrations, has been one of the hardest hit by the market slowdown. By the end of February, only 125 charter boat registrations were recorded, compared to 172 last year.

Despite the challenging start to the year, the nautical sector remains optimistic about a recovery in registrations as the year progresses and the high season approaches.
